Spaghetti With Red Pepper Flakes, Arugula and Olive Oil
I’m crazy for pasta and I can’t imagine a life without pasta. I’m not kidding :). I can eat pasta for breakfast, lunch or dinner doesn’t matter. I can eat pasta every day and it never gets boring. I have a lot of recipes for homemade fresh pasta and a lot of sauce recipes for pastas which I made through the years.
When my days are very busy and I don’t want to spend a lot of hours in the kitchen, I like to cook spaghetti and sauce with the ingredients that I already have.
I’m so excited to share this spaghetti recipe because it’s one of my favorite pasta recipes. Usually, I make the spaghetti in combination with these ingredients, but you can use any type of pasta that you like or have in your kitchen.
This recipe is quick, healthy and not to mention very delicious. You can serve it as an appetizer or as a main meal. I use whole-wheat spaghetti but you can use regular or gluten-free. For this spaghetti I use red pepper flakes, nutritional yeast, garlic, baby arugula, olive oil and pumpkin seeds.
I just love the simplicity of this spaghetti recipe. This recipe doesn’t have a creamy sauce or a tomato sauce but when you combine the ingredients it has an absolutely amazing flavor. The arugula freshens the spaghetti, the nutritional yeast gives them a bit of a cheesy flavor and the pumpkin seeds make them crunchy.
You can make this spaghetti with red chili pepper flakes instead of sweet pepper flakes if you want to spice up the recipe, however if you don’t want it to be too spicy you can mix the red chili pepper flakes and the sweet flakes. I use dried garlic instead of fresh because I don’t want an intense garlic flavor. You can also leave out the garlic if you don’t eat garlic, it’s up to you.
This dish simply makes itself. All that is required of you is to cook the spaghetti and lightly fry all of the ingredients, mix the spaghetti together and it will be ready in less than 15 minutes.
And if you do make this spaghetti with red pepper flakes, arugula and olive oil or any other recipes from my blog, I would love to see them! Instagram, Tweet or send them to me on Facebook via the Just Flora No Fauna Facebook Page!
Thanks for following and for supporting what I do. Wishing you a lovely day! <3
